Nothing you can do can totally prepare you as God sends you on your 17th journey to Africa. But one thing I have learned over the years, when He sends you, He goes with you and He prepares the way! It was a great honor for me to have my friend and ETM board member Greg Yancey join me on our trip to Rwanda. We were once again hosted by John Gasangwa, John is the founder and head of Arise Rwanda Ministries. We would be spending the next nine days in the city of Boneza, which is about a four hour drive from the capital city of Kigali.
All of our preparation and planning would now be put into action! We would do leadership training for the youth of Boneza and then spend time with the students at Kivu Hills Academy. The Holy Spirit is challenging and empowering many of those students as they seek God’s will for their lives. We would then host a two day leadership conference for the pastors of Boneza, what an amazing time we had with them as we shared from God’s Word and talked about building for eternity on the shores of Lake Kivu. And finally we would host a two day crusade on the campus of Kivu Hills Academy. We had three of the top Christian singers from Rwanda joining us as we worshiped and taught from God’s word. We believe there was about 5,000 people there for our final day.
I am still in awe of all that God did as we raised up the name of Jesus throughout that part of the world. Many seeds were planted, many hearts were healed and none of us will ever be the same!!!!
