Our Story
The Question...
If the tomb is empty, where is He and what does it mean to you?
How you answer that question may very well determine where you will spend eternity. The Bible tells us that 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ walked on this earth. While He was here, He said and did some remarkable things. He healed the sick, caused the blind to see and the lame to walk and He even raised the dead. And in the midst of it all, He proclaimed that no one could get to the Father except through Him.
One day Jesus told His disciples, “We are going to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed and condemned to death. They will hand Him over to the gentiles, who will mock Him, spit on Him, flog Him and kill Him, but three days later He will rise again.” Jesus was willing to die on the cross for the sins of the world. As He agonized over His act of obedience, His cry to His Father in heaven, “Not my will, but your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”
History tells us it happened just like Jesus said it would. Death had delivered its greatest blow, for the Savior of the world was placed in the tomb. The sinless Son of God lay motionless in the tomb. The minutes turned into hours and the hours into days. Would Jesus Christ be remembered as simply the carpenter’s son or would He be hailed as the risen Son of God? On the third day, very early in the morning, His disciples went to the tomb. There, they were met by an angel and he said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead, He is not here, He has RISEN!”
