Noah, an Ark and a Storm!

Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Genesis 6:22

Noah was a righteous man who walked with God.  Laura and I love to go on walks together because we enjoy each other’s company.  I don’t ever remember going on a walk with Laura where we didn’t talk.  Noah walked with God and God talked with Noah!  God knew a storm was coming so He told Noah to build an ark.  Build a what?  Build an ark!  Not only did God tell him to build it, He told him how to build it.  What God told Noah saved his life!

One thing I know for sure, the God that talked to Noah is still talking to us today.  The question is, are we listening?  How has your world been lately?  Are you facing any storms that may have you worried?  Are you uncertain about your future, your job, your home and even your family?  The world doesn’t have the answers we need, but God does!  Maybe we can learn a very important lesson from Noah as he walked with God.  God saw something in Noah that caused God to want to walk with him.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time.  God is looking for people today who desire to walk with Him and are committed to living holy lives.

God has a way of saving us, because He loves us.  For Noah, it was a boat, for us, it is His Son.  The people laughed at Noah, the world will laugh at us.  The storms are coming and God is calling His people to be ready.  The people of Noah’s day were not ready, but Noah was.  Why?  Because, Noah walked and talked with God.  How about you, are you ready?  God is not asking you to build an ark; He is commanding you to build on the rock.  It’s not just any rock, there is only one rock that can withstand the coming storm, Jesus, the rock of our foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11).  Today is a new day, and we must build our lives according to God’s perfect plan, His Word.  God’s plan worked for Noah and it will work for us!

As I look out my office window I can’t see an ark.  But what I can see is a world that desperately needs answers and direction.  The end time storm is heading our way and God wants us to help people get ready.  Noah brought animals to the ark; God is asking us to bring people to His Son!  You and I have been chosen by God to deliver His all important message.  Noah did everything just as God commanded him, may you and I do the same.

I leave you with this challenge.  Maybe it’s time for you to take a walk, if you do, don’t be surprised who might want to tag along with you.  God walked with Noah, He wants to walk with you.  Enjoy the walk!
